Ever wonder who would win in a game between PC gamers and console gamers? If so, a little test that Microsoft is rumored to have run may interest you.
According to Rahul Sood (founder of Voodoo PC and now with HP), Microsoft had a project in the works that would have allowed PC gamers and console gamers to play head to head with each other. Apparently, the project was canceled because console gamers were getting worked over by the PC gamers.
These weren’t just random players, either. MS pitted the best console gamers against mediocre PC gamers, and still the PC gamers were consistently owning the console players.
Now, this doesn’t surprise me all that much. After all, the PC’s mouse and keyboard allows for much more precise control, especially in first-person shooter titles. That’s one reason I rarely ever play FPS titles on my consoles.
Still, it would have been a blast to have cross-platform play in some titles, and it would likely have resulted in a lot of games coming to PC that are currently only available on consoles.
Maybe Microsoft’s recent announcement that they are still committed to the PC will result in a re-examination of this project. Only time will tell.

I would seriously enjoy doing that, showing the console fankids (excluding me) who's boss with my Steam pals. Oh wait. I haven't got any
